Hello! Welcome to my blog! I taught eighth grade math in Massachusetts for 5.5 years, then switched to part time tutoring for fifth and eighth graders this past spring. Now I plan to work from home this year so I can maximize my time with my toddler.
My husband and I met in York Beach, Maine while working a summer job at a restaurant during college in 2007. He proposed at the Cape Neddick "Nubble" lighthouse in 2012, and we were married along the coast a year later. Soon after we adopted our "fur baby" - an English chocolate lab - and named him Neddick. Most recently we expanded our family with the birth of our son, Landon, in April 2015. I am so thankful for my three boys, as well as all of our family and friends who provide an incredible support system for us.
I taught eighth grade math in Westford, Massachusetts from 2010 to 2015. I worked with amazing students, teachers, and administration. My standard math classes were a hybrid of eighth grade standards and Algebra 1 concepts (focusing on linear relationships). My accelerated math classes followed the Algebra 1 curriculum. I love eighth grade because every day is very different and they change so much throughout the year. What a joy it is to be able to share my own passion for math with my students!
I am so thankful for Teachers Pay Teachers because, not only has my passion for education been reignited, but I have also discovered a deeper passion for creation of educational resources. I started my store in May 2015 and it sure is addicting! I have so many more ideas and so much more to learn. I'm very optimistic and excited for the journey ahead.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog! I'd love your participation via the comments. Thanks for stopping by!
